Description

This Rio de Janeiro A2 print draws inspiration from the vibrant and exotic second city of Brazil. Drawn during the Rio Olympics  in 2016,  the illustration features some of Rio’s best known natural and man-made landmarks. These include the  Christ the Redeemer statue, Pão de Açúcar (Sugarloaf Mountain) and the beaches of Botafogo. It also features the infamous Maracanã stadium (venue of the 1950 and 2014 World Cup finals, and the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2016 Summer Olympic Games). The focal point of the illustration is a large depiction of a squirrel monkey dressed in the full kit of “A Canarinha” (the Brazilian National Football team.

In short, this fun, vividly coloured and quirky print is my small homage to the wonderful city of Rio de Janeiro. It would make an ideal gift choice for those who love all things Brazilian.
